Detroit baby, studied geophysics at Eastern Michigan University as a 20 something, moved to Portland Oregon and did post-bacc studies in philosophy, moved to Ohio to study philosophy at Kent State University, lived in Alaska for a summer and landed in Philadelphia where I'm officed-up.

So what's the story on this guy? More or less conservative than the "liberal" (hah!) JPII?
He's a carbon copy of "the liberal"...but, at 78, well, he could kick soon...

That was my first thought. Someone just told me that he's a transitional pope - meant to "remove" the public from PJPII, until they can put someone in to start the new regime.
I find it all very creepy
