A Sudden Terrifying Realization

I had a sudden terrifying realization last night, when I put head to pillow. Isn’t that always the way? I realized that more than half of the year has past and I’m not nearly halfway through my book list. Granted, some of the books have been added mid-year because of interest or force (often by SK), but that does not alleviate my responsibility to The Original Eleven.

The Original Eleven

The Name of the Rose – done according to me. Fleck.

Time Travelers Wife—loved it.

Out-Ye gads, ummmm great, but yuck.

Spinners—2 ½ stars out of 5

The Obama book—yet to read

Oryx and Crake –yet to read

Snow—yet to read

The Namesake—yet to read

Hatred, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage—In the middle, lovin’ it.

Crescent—yet to read

Don’t Know Much About History—yet to read

Evil Add-ons (aka the death of me)

Freakenomics—which I’ve read a bit and wrote a little ditty about last night when looking over my list at 1 a.m. Here it is:

Blather, Blather, Blather
Numbers, Numbers, Numbers
Neat-o, Neat-o, Neat-o

I suppose.

The world hardboiled.

Ble-esh.

Blink—ordered by my mother and BA. I liked The Tipping Point, so I’m hopeful.

Runaway—add because I loved H,F, C, L, M above

Emergence: The connected lives…—lay over from last year, to my shame

What’s the Matter with Kansas—a gift from my mother to SK. I’m driven to read it as well.

Note to self: CHOP CHOP!!
